Privacy policy

PlayCraps is a play-money craps game. You don't make an account, and we don't ask for your name, email or payment details to play. This policy explains the little we do collect across the PlayCraps apps, the TV table atplay.playcraps.tv, the PlayCraps Live stream, and this website.

When you play at a table
To run a game between a TV and the phones at it, we store:
- An anonymous ID. The TV and each phone get a random ID from Firebase Authentication. It isn't tied to your name, email, phone number or any account.
- What you choose for your seat: a display name and a colour.
- The game: the table's code and settings, your seat, your play-money bets and bankroll, your throws (their strength, angle and spin), and when your phone was last connected.
This lives in Google Cloud Firestore. Everyone at the same table can see the names, bets and bankrolls at that table. Tables that haven't been used for 30 days are deleted, with everything in them. Requests your phone sends to the table are deleted about a minute after the table reads them.
The iPhone app uses the camera only to scan the code on the TV. The picture stays on your phone. The apps don't ask for your location, contacts, photos or microphone.
When you play along with PlayCraps Live
If you chat on our YouTube or Twitch stream and use a command such as !join or !bet, we receive your public display name and channel or user ID from that platform, along with your message. We keep a play-money record under that ID: your bankroll, bets, wins and when you last played. Your display name and play-money results can appear on the stream and on the leaderboard on this website. Messages that aren't commands aren't stored. YouTube and Twitch handle your chat under their own privacy policies.
When you visit this website
We use Google Analytics to see which pages people read and how fast they load. It sets cookies only if you choose OK on the cookie banner. If you choose No thanks, or haven't chosen, Google receives cookieless pings that count visits without identifying your browser. Google Analytics records things like the pages you view, your browser and device type, and an approximate location worked out from your IP address. We keep that data for 2 months. The TV table at play.playcraps.tv uses the same analytics to count tables opened.
Our hosting on Google Cloud logs each request (IP address, browser and time) to keep the site secure and running. Those logs are kept for 30 days.
What we don't do
- We don't take real money, sell chips, or pay out prizes, so we never collect payment details.
- We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.
- We don't show ads in the apps or on this site.
Who processes it for us
Google (Firebase, Google Cloud and Google Analytics) stores and processes this data for us in the United States. YouTube and Twitch deliver stream chat. We don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
Children
PlayCraps is simulated casino gambling for adults 18 and over, and it isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you think a child has used PlayCraps, email us and we'll delete what we have.
Your choices
- Change your cookie choice any time by clearing this site's cookies and local storage; the banner will ask again.
- Ask us what we hold about you, or to delete it, at privacy@playcraps.tv. Seedelete your data for how.
- Depending on where you live, including California and the EU, you may have more rights, such as correcting your data or objecting to how it's used. Email us and we'll help. We won't treat you differently for asking.
Changes
If we change what we collect, for example when the apps add crash reporting, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change ships.
